8 months

Abby is 8 months old. She loves swinging in her outside swing and reading books. Her favorite foods are yogurt, mandarin oranges, and mozzarella cheese. She claps all the time and babbles non stop. She is about to grow out of her 12 month clothes and is now wearing a size 4 diaper. She has gotten 3 more teeth this month too!

It was hard to get her to lay down to take this picture. She wants to be sitting up!
She can’t stand on her own yet, but if you stand her up and put her hands on something she can stay standing. She is growing too fast!
She loves to swing!
She can drink water from a straw!
The dogs are ready to clean up any thing she drops!
We made her a ball pit!
She helps Mommy with the laundry.
And helps Mommy teach students online.
Those two side teeth came in first so she looked like a vampire for about a week! Now she has one of her front teeth too.
Bath time is her favorite time of day!
Family selfie!

Abby’s First Easter

We didn’t get to do our usual Easter traditions like church or lunch with Shawn’s parents but, we made the best of things.

The Easter Bunny left a basket for Abby.
And we read Easter Books.
She likes this book the best!
We made Easter Cards.
And put on her Easter dress for some pictures.

All in all it was a nice day. She also went to the doctor last week and weighs 19 lbs and 6 oz (91st percentile) She is 29 inches tall (off the chart tall). The doctor said she is developing normally and thriving!

Six Months Old

Abby was 6 months old on Saturday. It is hard to believe. She is growing up so fast! We don’t go to the doctor again for a couple weeks so I will post here height and weight then.

She can roll over now and is getting really strong. She still needs support to sit up but it won’t be long until she can do it on her own!
She is a great eater! Her favorites are prunes and pears. She doesn’t like peas, green beans, or peaches.
She loves being read to.
And playing with toys.
We put her bouncy chair outside and she loved that! She spent about an hour bouncing and looking at birds, squirrels, and the occasional chicken.
She has her first baby doll and I think they look like twins!
She had her first St. Patty’s day.
Of course we had more than one outfit!
She took sometime to smell the flowers.
She has two teeth! She likes to bite Mommy and thinks funny when she says ouch! 😂
We have finally gotten her room together.
Mommy made her name sign to hang over her crib.
She is also a good sleeper!

That’s all for now! We hope everyone is well and saying safe during this scary time!

5 months old

Abby was five months old on Wednesday! I can’t believe how much she has grown!

She likes to put her elbow on things when she sits up (like she is doing in this picture). She even does this in the bath!

She is eating baby food now and loves it!

And she likes to sit in her high chair and play.
She still loves her bouncy seat. She loves it so much she will bounce until she falls asleep!
Daddy took her fishing for the first time.
Mommy had to go to a conference for work and Abby came too (Nana came to watch Abby while Mommy was at the conference)!
It was her first hotel stay
And longest car ride.
She did great!
She is working on cutting her first tooth so everything goes into her mouth!

Four Months

Abby turned four months old on Tuesday!

Her 4 month check up is on Valentine’s Day so I will post her height and weight after that. I know that she is growing like a weed! She is almost out of 3-6 months clothes! The outfit in the picture is 6-9 month size.

She loves being wrapped in snuggly blankets, putting things in her mouth, and playing with her unicorn.

She is not a fan of tummy time but is very close to rolling over.

Despite our best efforts, she is a thumb sucker.

Abby is happiest first thing in the morning (she wakes up smiling and cooing) and afternoon her nightly bath. She sleeps 11-12 hours and night and take 2-3 naps during the day.

Also, our dog, Sadie, is still her protector and goes everywhere that Abby goes. They are going to be best buds!

Christmas Part 2

Nana and Papa (Jennifer’s parents) came to visit the weekend before Christmas.

Those are all the presents just for Abby. She got a lot of things that she will need over the next year like a swing for outside and toys for the bath.

Nana and Abby did get a chance to talk. Abby is very chatty now and makes about 5 different sounds. I will try to get a video of her talking and post it soon. That is outfit #6 right there.

It was a short trip but good that we got to see them.

Abby has gotten so many new ornaments this year that she will have her own tree in her room next year. This one is a favorite that her grandma gave her.

Here is our tree. Abby was not too impressed with it.

And here are all our stockings.

Jennifer puts up that nativity set every year. This year nana got Abby a Little People nativity set so Abby can set it up next year.

On Christmas night, we went to Grandma and Grandpa’s house (Shawn’s parents).

And now you have seen her final Christmas outfit (#7). She had a lot of gifts at their house too! She mostly slept at their house which is fine because she doesn’t get too excited by presents.

She got toys and clothes from grandma and grandpa. We did wake her up right before we left to get a picture of our little family!

Christmas Part 1

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! We have had a busy December.

Because Abby can’t leave the state until the adoption is final, Everyone has had to come to us. In the middle of December, Aunt Kalie and Uncle Chris (Jennifer’s brother) came to see her. It was the first time they had gotten to meet her in person (We have only face timed with them before)!

Abby has gotten several Christmas outfits as gifts this year. She looks so cute in all of them! Of course, she looks cute all of the time! Here is Outfit #1!

And here is Abby’s outfit #2!

And Outfit #3! She sleeps with her arms up all the time. She has never liked being swaddled because she has to get those arms up!

And Outfit #4! In Iceland everyone exchanges books on Christmas Eve and they send the evening reading and drinking hot coco! Shawn and Jennifer Started this tradition last year. Abby’s book was a Curious George Christmas Book. She likes being read too now and can focus her eyes on the pictures.

And Outfit #5! Big yawn for such a little baby! That is her next to her new stocking! I wanted a picture of her in it but she wouldn’t fit! She is almost 14 lbs now!

There are two more outfits to see (yes, 7 Christmas outfits)! We will get the Christmas Day pictures up in a couple of days!

Here is the best present we could every get under the tree!
