Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas and we hope everyone else did too! Abby has a cold so we decided to love our neighbors by skipping the Christmas Eve church service (and not giving all the other two year olds a cold) this year, but she was able to enjoy all the other magical moments of the Christmas Season. She was still the same happy and funny girl she always is even though her nose kept being “sticky.”

Just after Thanksgiving, we went to visit Santa and Abby was not a fan! She dropped to her knees and crawled away from him yelling “Help! Help!” Santa hid behind his chair so we could get a picture!
She had fun decorating what she calls, “Daddy’s Tree.” Every morning she comes out of her room and says, “Daddy tree still here? Daddy Mess.”
We decorated Christmas Cookies! She either took a bite out of or licked all but three of them. 🤦🏻‍♀️
She loves the song “Jingle Bells” especially that part when you say, “Hey!”
We left milk and cookies out for Santa and he left some goodies for Abby!
She was scared to go to the presents at first, but Mommy showed her it was ok and she soon dug right in. She is a very cautious child and takes a minute to warm up to new things.
Her favorite gift by far was her new bike! Thank you to Lisa and David for sending it! We just put the gifts you sent along with what we had gotten her out and made it all from “Santa.”
She has been riding it all around the house with her bunny in the compartment in that back!
On Christmas afternoon we went to Shawn’s Parent’s house for Christmas part two. As you can probably guess, at least half these presents are for Abby!
We had dinner, opened presents, and then had dessert afterward.
She was one worn out little girl! I will put her back in her dress and get a better picture to post in a few days. Thank you to everyone who sent gifts. She enjoyed everything (even though she doesn’t really understand why we did all of this)!
Here is a video of her playing with some of her new toys while Mommy did the dishes.
Abby says, “My mom made me wear this again”
Every year I take a picture of her next to her stocking.

Thanksgiving

Sorry that I am so late getting these pictures posted.

Jennifer’s parents (Nana and Papa) came to stay with our family for Thanksgiving.
Abby and Nana watched the parade while Mommy started cooking.
Abby and Mommy wore matching shirts!
Abby liked the pie the best!
Abby made her first gingerbread house!
She is a happy and silly child!

Happy Halloween

For Halloween this year, our family went as the Bubble Guppies. Abby is Bubble Puppy, Jennifer is Molly, and Shawn is Gil.

She really liked trick or treating!
She was not a fan of pumpkin carving. She said “yucky” and then screamed when she saw the inside.
She was pretty unimpressed with the finished product as well. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe next year.
We went to the pumpkin patch. (Yes, she is 36.5 inches tall and weighs 31 lbs at her 2 year old check up)
She loved the hay ride!
Look at that cute country girl!
No pumpkin patch visit would be complete without apple cider and apple cinder donuts!

Abby is 23 months old

She loves to eat! Favorite foods are pizza, sausage, blue berries, any kind of noodle, string cheese, and yogurt.
Her favorite show is bubble guppies, but she also likes Peppa Pig, Bluey, and Paw patrol (she calls it Doggie Show).
We have started trying to potty train. She mostly likes to carry her potty around the house.
We have been going to the zoo a lot this summer. Her favorite part is the carousel!
She is getting so big! She talks well. She can’t say many sentences, but there is nothing she can’t communicate!
She climbs on everything.
She is so funny!

Happy Forth of July!

Abby had a fun day today. We went to church this morning and then to Grandma and Grandpa’s (Shawn’s Parents) house of Hamburgers and Hotdogs. Unfortunately, she can’t stay up late enough for fireworks—maybe next year.

Grandma always has some kind of yummy dessert!
And there is her cupcake face!

Abby is 21 months old today! She is wearing 3T tops and dresses and 2T shorts. She just started wearing a size 6 shoe.

She is rubbing the dog’s tummy!

Abby likes playing with baby dolls and play food. Her favorite animal is still a bunny with bees and ducks being close second favorites. Her favorite shows are Bubble Guppies and Peppa Pig. Her favorite foods are sausage, blue berries, bananas, and any kind of pasta. Blue seems to be her favorite color.

Here she is having breakfast with some bunnies and Mini Mouse! She eats cereal out of a bowl with milk, now! Such a big girl!
She likes Mini because of her shoes!
Abby is really into beautiful shoes!
We go to Lou City Soccer games often and Abby does really well! We only stay for the first half because it gets to be way past her bedtime.
She still loves to read!
She helps in the garden.
Here she is picking black berries.
This is her with her friend Sloane (who is also adopted) rocking while we wait for a table at Cracker Barrel.
She really is a beautiful child.
And such a character! Here she is wearing Mommy’s sunglasses!
At the beginning of June, we took a trip to visit Nana and she got to play with her cousins.
Nana (Jennifer’s Mom) is always happy to have all the grandkids together.
Abby also started taking toddler music classes. I don’t have a picture but she is also liking her swim classes more and more.
She is getting so big but still needs that sweet bunny ear when she gets tired!

She is getting so independent and is starting to do little chores around the house. She can feed the dogs (pass out their bowls and scoop the food into eat bowl). She also picks up her toys and puts her dishes in the sink. Today we took the child lock off the trash can because she knows how to put trash in and not take anything out. She also can put her toothpaste on her toothbrush. We are so proud of all the new things that she is learning to do!

Happy Memorial Day!!!

Abby had some bubble fun today!
She also relaxed while watching her favorite show, Bubble Guppies.
Still a great eater. Favorites include blue berries, cheese, hot dogs, and noodles.
She has some pretty awesome faces! This is my current favorite picture of her.
Family selfie!
She is obsessed with picking up rocks and putting them in a cup right now. She loves her boots and can put them on all by herself.
And then redistributing them (on the dog, her head, whatever).
And she is constantly climbing on everything!

Easter and More April Fun

Abby started swim lessons.
She doesn’t love the pool but we are hoping she will warm up to it.
We had a visit from the Easter Bunny on Easter Morning.
She is giving her new bunny a drink.
She still loves to read!
This is her Easter outfit
Easter Day was beautiful. We went to Shawn’s parents house for dinner and to play outside.
She loves to help in the kitchen.
And taste the ingredients.
She is into everything!
She loves to play in the dog water bowl.
And stand in it!
She loves her sunglasses!
She is growing up so fast and we are enjoying every minute of it!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

There is not much new to report, but I want to put up a couple of pictures of our little goof ball.

One morning, she pushed her high chair close to the table and used it to climb on the table to get to the Cheerios. I guess I was taking to long to make breakfast. 🤷🏻‍♀️
When I turned around and caught her she quickly closed the box. 😂
She loves wearing her sunglasses and playing outside.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

This is Abby reading her llama llama Valentine’s Day book this morning in her Valentine’s Day PJs.
Abby’s Daddy got her a Valentine’s Day Rose!
Earlier this week, Abby went to the dentist for the first time (just for a check up)!
This cute girl loves spaghetti!
She still loves baby dolls!
She has started helping Mommy in the kitchen.
We hope everyone stays safe and warm this week! Where we live, we are supposed to get a big snow storm. Abby is ready for it!
